We are delighted to team up with Festool to bring you this short class in furniture building. The class will be primarily based around the Festool “Domino” - a unique jointing system using rounded loose tenons to join timber giving very strong accurate and precise joints in an easy & efficient way.
The class will start with Vincent giving a presentation on the Festool Domino Joiner, fittings and the extensive range of accessories available.
In order to deepen your understanding on this tool you’ll then proceed to making your own side table from scratch.
Participants will each be equipped with a Festool Domino DF500 to work with at their station for the class duration. You can select from a choice of material out of which to make your table eg Birch Plywood or Teak/Iroko.
Vincent will demonstrate how to size and cut the material on the Kapex Mitre saw and then with the material kit provided you’ll proceed to setting and using the domino. You will have the option to either dry fit your table & unassemble so that you can take it home flat pack or glue it up.
While the course is open to anyone looking to make functional furniture projects fast it will be most beneficial to those considering the purchase of a Festool Domino or existing domino owners who may require some instruction in setting up and using this machine to its full potential.
A maximum of 5 participants are taken on each course ensuring you receive adequate attention for the class duration.
Cost: *€65 - This fee is refundable against the purchase of a Festool Domino purchased in The Carpentry Store between 19thJuly – 31st July 2024.
Held above our store in Naas, W91XH68, our recently redeveloped classroom will provide you with a bright & spacious environment to work in. You will have use of all our classroom equipment. Timber required will also be provided as will an apron & safety wear. It is important to wear comfortable & closed toe footwear – no flipflops or sandals are permitted.
Refreshments are included in your fee. Please advise of any dietary requirements at the time of booking.

Cancellation Policy:
Fees are payable in full at the time of booking. In an event that you need to cancel your course a full refund will be offered up to 14 days in advance of the course start date or subject to availability you will be offered a transfer to an alternative course date.
Cancellations within the 14days of the course start date will result in a forfeit of the fee and no transfer option will be offered unless your position can be filled by another student up to 7days prior to the course start date.
In the event that the course is cancelled by The Carpentry Store your fee will be refunded in full or an alternative course date can be provided. The Carpentry Store will not be liable for any other costs incurred or lost through the cancellation of the course.
