Poplar also known as Tulip Wood is light cream to yellowish brown and sometimes have gray or green streaks. Poplar is moderately durable to non-durable and susceptible to insect attack. The most common reactions while working with poplar would be eye, skin, and respiratory irritation, as asthma-like symptoms.

- When sanding use finer grits of sandpaper to obtain a smooth surface.
